happy birthday ashlea!!

Today is not only grandma's birthday, but Ashlea's birthday too!!!

Ashlea is a very precious girl to me. Well she's not really a girl.. she's 19 and about to be a mom.
Anyway... I've gotten to watch her grow from a young teen into a lovely young woman. What a wonderful mommy she will be to baby girl, Audra.
We just had her baby shower this last weekend and she did so well.

Happy Birthday, Ash!!! I love you and pray sweet blessings on you on your special day.

happy birthday grandma!!

Today is my amazing grandma's birthday. I love her so so much and she means more to me than she could ever know. She had a great hand in raising me... she didn't do half bad if I say so myself. ;)

I love you Grandma E and I hope you have an amazing day full of many blessings!!!

Love,
CareBear

This is a picture of grandma and all her girls at my wedding shower. What a fun day that was!!!

happy birthday dennis!

April 26th was my hubby's 37th birthday. We had a pretty great day (considering we both had to work). I did manage to get the afternoon off and picked up Tyler from school early and went shopping for Dennis. We ended up getting him some new shoes, a shirt and a couple pairs of shorts. We had his gifts ready when he got home from work and it was "party time". He loved everything he got and then we made his birthday dinner which consisted of steak, garlic mashed potatoes, corn and blackberry cobbler for dessert.
Unfortunately, I did not get pics of ANY of it. I'm such a loser sometimes. He did have a good day and I know I am very blessed to have such a sweet and wonderful husband and Tyler has a wonderful father.
We already have his Father's Day gift in the works. :)

Since there were not any pictures from his actual birthday, I will be sure and take some when we go eat with my wonderful mother-in-law and father-in-law later in the week. But for now... Here is a pic of my wonderful husband and our sweet boy.

we'll take second!

Well we got second in the championship!! Go Blue Jays!!! Those boys played so hard and did so well!! We played 2 games on Saturday and 4 back to back on Sunday. They were worn flat out!! They really did an amazing job keeping up and showed wonderful sportsmanship. Very proud of the boys!

Here are a few pictures I snapped of Tyler during the tournament.

Here we go!

"Yes, I'm gonna play hard..."

Practice swing!

Batter up!

Here he is pitching... pretty good arm on this kid!

It was a wonderful weekend and I was broken in very well!!!! Happy about all of it and so glad to be a "baseball mom"!!

happy birthday tyler!

Tyler's birthday was last week and yes, I am just now posting about it! We've been kind of busy and if you read the post below... you know this already.

It was his 10th birthday and I was able to take a half day off work and bake cupcakes and take to his school for his whole class!! They were a pretty big hit!!

Then, hubby planned a big paintball party for Ty and several of his friends and a few other dads to help of course... Well, it got rained out!! It was just to wet and flat out COLD to try to make a party of it. Such a bummer. It is rescheduled and he was a great sport about it. Maybe I can tag along when they go.

We were able to go to granny's house on Saturday evening and eat hamburgers and hotdogs and they were so yummy!!! Nothing like a granny and papa's cookin'.
Poor Tyler was burnt out on cake by this point and we were going to have sundaes. Granny also bough a watermelon to eat for dessert. We ended up ditching the sundaes and chowing down on the melon.

Here are the pics of the cutest darn birthday boy and his fabulous watermelon birthday "cake".

He got to light the candles himself. He loved that part!!

Den and I are so blessed to have Tyler. We cannot imagine our lives without him.

more time please...

Ok, so it seems that we have been going non stop for the last 2 months. Between work, church, baseball practice, more church, birthday parties and other things... it seems there is rarely time to just be at home and enjoy it.

Tonight, my sweet family is going to spend the evening at home. The 3 of us are going to eat some dinner and relax and watch movies. The Blindside will definitely be part of this evening. I cannot wait to watch it. I've heard nothing but good things about it and I'm super stoked to see it. I'm more excited to just spend time with my boys.

Have I mentioned how sweet my husband is? I have mentioned wanting a watch here lately and found one of my old ones and was so happy!!! I wore it for about a day and then realized it did not keep time correctly. I was bummed. :( Last night I walked in the door and hubby was already home with Tyler and he just handed me a brand new watch!!! He went and picked one out for me. How sweet is that?!?!?!

Starting tomorrow morning is our opening baseball tournament. I am excited for this as I am a new baseball mama. First game is at 9 A.M. It will be an early and long day but I can't wait. Hopefully I will get some decent pics with my camera while we are there.

Happy weekend to all!!!

wedding prep

Here are a few shots of the wedding preparation for myself and the girls. I was so thankful to have all the help that I had. I had a wonderful Maid of Honor and amazing family helping me get ready for my special day.

The bride:

The groom: (unfortunately, not as many pics as of the bride's preparation)

A HUGE thank you to all who where there and to ALL who helped. I love you all!!!

bowl it out

The other night we had a "family night out" and it started with a wonderful trip to the bowling alley here in town that has recently re-opened. We had such a good time and we all 3 got to have our wins. I won the first, Dennis the second and Tyler won the third game. We just had a blast being goofy and wearing the super cool shoes.

here is Dennis making one of his faces during a deep discussion with Ty...

Tyler "peacin' out"

the pink ball was his "lucky" ball...

about to knock down some pins

the above said super cool shoes :)

All in all we had a wonderful evening together. I can't wait to see how our next "family night out" goes. Maybe this Saturday???

I gave in...

Ok people... here's the deal. I have given my new hubby such a hard time about being a Survivor watcher. I watched the first few seasons and then let it go. Well... as much as I hate to admit it, I got sucked in. Last night I found myself actually interested in what was going on and asking the hubby questions about it. I got irritated when I realized that I was enjoying it... but I watched it anyway. Ha!! I know my friend Michelle is going to LOVE that I'm watching it now. I'm still not as die hard and she and my hubby are but yes, I'm a watcher now.

practice makes perfect!

Last night I got to attend Tyler's baseball practice. I'm hoping to be able to make it to more of the practices and I'm very excited for his games to start.
I managed to snap a few pictures during practice last night...

his face in these pictures crack me up!!

We have a lot of work to do before the games start and since he's the pitcher we have our work cut out for us!!

OKC memorial

While spending a lot of time in Oklahoma City during our honeymoon, we were able to go to the OKC memorial and museum. It was very sad and we both cried at times but it was also very informative and amazing to see. We were both so moved by the whole thing and if you have not been, we encourage you to go!
I was only able to take pictures outside. Pictures in the museum were not allowed and after touring it, I understand why. Below are a few of the pics I took of the memorial. We need to remember to be in prayer for our country and for those family members who have lost loved ones in horrible terrorist acts such as this and 9/11. We also need to remember the fallen soldiers and those who are fighting for our freedom.

honeymoon

We were able to get away for a few days after the wedding before returning to our very buys lives. I asked Dennis to plan the honeymoon and surprise me. Poor guy!! Who knew he would have stressed over it the way he did. He just wanted me to be pleased with it all and I was. It was nice and relaxing and it gave us two a chance to get caught up on all that we had missed out on since we got engaged. LOL! It sounds crazy, I know... but we barely saw each other after he proposed. With a quick wedding there was so much to do and so little time.
We stayed at a place in Yukon called The Red Rooster. It was a bed and breakfast but what they had done was turn old train cars into suites! It was the cutest thing and we really thought it was cool! She kept it stocked with coffee and hot cocoa and popcorn. What a neat little place!

bridal portraits

These are a few of the pictures from the bridal shoot that I had with Miss Johannah. She did an awesome job! Such a talented young woman... I cannot wait to see the pictures that she got from the rehearsal dinner (where she was very sick and still did the pictures) and then the wedding day from prep to reception. Hope you enjoy!!
