2009

Well what a year this has been. We've had to take the good along with the bad. We've been on both ends of the spectrum and everywhere in-between.
January: The year started off almost immediately with an emergency gallbladder surgery. That was an eventful time. Took longer to recover than expected but no big problems from that.
February: My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.
March: The surgery - partial mastectomy and lymphnode removal. She did so well during the surgery and recovery. Better than anyone had expected!!
April: Chemo begins... what a tough time that was for my poor mom. She was a trooper though. Also in April, I got to move back to Duncan. So glad to be back with my family.
May: More chemo for mom... she did have a pretty hard time at this point. At one time she thought she was not going to make it. Got a job working at a Nursing home... got my CNA certification.
June: Had an offer to work for a car lot as the payroll/accounts payable person. It was a good offer that I could not resist. No more working weekends!!! Still more chemo for mom.
July: A bitter-sweet month for my family. My mom had her last chemo treatment in July. What a BLESSING and a huge accomplishment for mama. However, on the day of my mom's last chemo treatment, we found out that my grandmother (mama's mom) had colon cancer. How devastated we all were. The third week in July was grandma's surgery. She did wonderfully!!! We are so grateful for her surgeon, Dr. Miller. She recovered so well and was released 3 days before what they said would be her minimum stay!!
August: Grandma recovering nicely, mom started to gain a small bit of strength back, things were pretty smooth this month. Toward the latter part of August, mom started radiation.
September: Radiation continues... She did well with this. Only suffered from fatigue and some pretty severe burns.
October: This month was a HUGE answered prayer. Mom and grandma were both declared CANCER FREE!!!! Praise the Lord. Also in October, another answered prayer. My old job, KellPro, asked me to come back to work for them. I was thrilled and started immediately.
November: Enjoying fall and the new things that the previous month had come with. Also started seeing someone this month...
December: Getting ready for Christmas. We had our "annual Canton trip". Such a blast!! Still seeing him. :) Had a great time at our family get together the weekend before Christmas. Mom's hair is growing in like crazy... CURLY!!! Christmas eve, the blizzard of 2009 hit. We were snowed/iced in for 3 days!!! Still managed to have a wonderful time.
Looking over this last year it is proven that God has carried us all through every obstacle or trial we have faced. Only by His grace are we sustained. Thank you, Lord, for this last year and all it's lessons. I pray that we all take this new year as an opportunity to create new memories, grow closer to God and make it what it needs to be.
Happy New Years Eve, Eve... ;)
